Discipline Tips, The hidden weapon
The word ‘Discipline’, has such a bad reputation, all of us dread it!
We think of either school punishments or military regime. It has been over-drilled into us.
But what if we just use the right amount? What if the days we falter we show ourselves compassion and the days we keep on track we pat ourselves?
Some tips:
- Start small, with something like brushing your teeth at night, or maintaining a self reflection diary and then move on to bigger goals like reading reports or doing the weekly review with your team
- Don't over-analyse. The day we start getting emotions into the picture. What difference would it make? I don't feel like doing it! Is it worth it? You’ve lost the game. Think of why you started it and stick to it.
- Celebrate the small wins, it would motivate you to have bigger goals.
- Try to the thing that you decided on the same time everyday or everyweek. Consistency is the key to discipline
- Don't be hard when you miss a day, get back up and start afresh the next day. Give yourself some buffer, some compassion
- Have a specific goal and work towards it.
- Have a playlist with inspiration and motivational songs that will pump you to get right into it
